Past Adventures and Activities

Joshua Tree (18-21 March 2022):  Our next scheduled troop outing is at Joshua Tree.  We will finalize plans during Monday's meeting to include departure time, grub master if we return on Sunday or Monday.  Please sign-up on the troop webpage under the activities tab. BSA A/B forms required.

Grand Canyon Backpack Trip (25-30 March):  Due to a cancellation, there is one spot available for this advanced 5-day/4-night 30 mile adventure.  Please contact Mr. Morgan immediately if you are interested.  The checkout hike up Otay Mountain scheduled for this past Saturday was weathered ut and will be rescheduled.  More info to follow.   BSA A/B/C forms required for the Grand Canyon Trip.

Church Clean-up Day (9 April):  There is a volunteer Church Clean-up Day on Saturday, 9 April from 7:00am - 2:00pm.  Come for some or all of the time.  No equipment or experience is necessary.  This is a great way for us to show our appreciation for the church hosting and you can earn volunteer service time needed for advancement or school graduation requirements.  Food and drinks will be provided.

Spring Camporee (23 April 2022): There is a Camporee at Camp Bashor (near Otay Lakes County Park).  More details to follow.

Railroading Merit Badge Campout (13-15 May 2022):  We are confirmed to camp at the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum (PSRM) and earn the Railroading Merit Badge.  We will leave from the church Friday afternoon, drive to the PSRM in Campo, and camp next to the museum.  The next day, we will complete the railroad merit badge workbook, ride on a train, and earn the merit badge.  We could return home Saturday evening or camp a second night and come home Sunday morning.  Cost per scout including gas and food is approximately $20.00.  This is a great first campout for new Scouts and adults are more than welcome.

Ronald Reagan Museum Campout (10-12 June):  Mr. Plasencia is leading a campout and trip to the Ronald Reagan Museum.  We tour the museum and stay at a nearby campground.  This is a great trip for new scouts.

Summer camp at Cherry Valley on Catalina Island (3 - 9 July 2022): 2022 Summer Camp is at Cherry Valley (Santa Catalina Island).  Please join us for a fun and educational week at one of the most premier camps in the United States! 

Fiesta Island Beach Campout & COH (19-21 August 2022):  The Troop is planning a fun filled, water oriented weekend at Camp Fiesta Island which will include our Court of Honor.  More details will be provided as the date approaches.

Mud Caves and Hot Springs Camping at Agua Caliente (10-13 November):  This was one of the best campouts from last year!  Planned activities are exploring the Arroyo Tapiado Mud Caves, swimming in geo-thermal pools, star gazing, camp fires and hiking.  This is also a great opportunity to complete advancement requirements.
